RIFT Character and Pet Functionality

Below you will find troubleshooting steps for a variety of issues that affect the functionality for your pet or character.

If your pet is not responding correctly:
  1. Summon the pet and type the command /petfollow.
  2. Toggle the pet between 'Passive' and 'Defensive' on the pet bar.
  3. Click on the ‘Follow’ button on the pet bar.
  4. Engage monsters so your pet is killed.
  5. Reset your souls and reapply points.
If you or your pet has a debuff or buff that will not go away:
  1. Close your game completely and log back in.
  2. Engage monsters so that you or your pet, depending on which is having the issue, is killed.
  3. Reset your souls and reapply the points.
  4. Enter a warfront and then once inside, engage other players so you or your pet, depending on which is having the issue, is killed.
If your abilities aren’t working correctly:
  1. Close your game completely and log back in.
  2. Reset your souls and reapply the points.
  3. Be certain this is not taking place in PvP. The amount of damage done and functionality of some abilities in PvP is a bit different than in normal combat.
  4. If it is a buff, verify you or the person you are casting on does not already have a similar buff. There are many buffs that are part of a group and cannot be stacked together.
    1. If you are only able to see your buffs, you will need to go to your Interface settings, then go to Combat, and make sure ‘Show only my Buffs on target and party members’ is not checked.
  5. Some abilities will have fairly complicated functionalities. For further clarification check out ourClass Forums.

If you are still experiencing issues after trying the above steps, I would suggest submitting a bug report. The below steps will best direct the information to our Quality Assurance team so this can be investigated further:

  1. Type /cs and press 'Enter' or click on the ‘?’ icon located in the lower left-hand corner of your screen.
  2. Click on the ‘Feedback/Bugs’ tab at the bottom of the dialog box which opens up.
  3. Select the category which most closely relates to the issue or feedback you have.
  4. Write a detailed description in the appropriate boxes. Please note for bugs, only the ‘Found a Bug?’ box is needed.
  5. Left-click the ‘SEND’ button when you are finished.
